It is completely unacceptable to use a flag of this nature.

This is completely at odds with the values of the Australian Defence Force and the tens of thousands of ADF personnel who have served with distinction in Afghanistan.

I’m advised that in this 2007 incident the commander took immediate action to have the offensive flag taken down. He immediately cautioned the personnel involved and subsequently provided further counselling. Further steps were taken to reinforce training and education for all personnel who witnessed the incident.
