Following his announcement earlier this week, I thank the outgoing Chief Executive of the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO), Mr Warren King, for his hard work and service.

Mr King has had a long and distinguished career spanning almost five decades in Defence including twenty years in the Royal Australian Navy.

Since joining DMO in 2004, Mr King has been instrumental on a number of their largest projects including; the Air Warfare Destroyer, the Joint Strike Fighter and oversight of the projects of concern process.

Mr King has been a pillar of the defence community over many decades and it has been an honour, albeit brief, to work with him.

I commend Mr King on his contribution and wish him and his family all the very best for the future.
