The Acting Minister for Defence, Warren Snowdon, today expressed his sincere condolences to the family and friends of Australian soldier, Craftsman Beau Pridue, who was killed in a single vehicle incident in East Timor.
A second Australian soldier was also injured, both were members of the International Stabilisation Force (ISF).
“On behalf of the Australian Government, I offer my prayers and support to the deceased Australian soldier’s family and friends.
“My thoughts are also with the injured Australian soldier, who is receiving medical care a hospital in Dili.
“This fine young Australian has given his life in the service of his country. He was part of Australia’s ongoing contribution to the peace and stability of East Timor.
“I assure his family and friends that his service and sacrifice will not be forgotten.
“Our priority remains the care and support for his family and his injured comrade during this difficult time,” Mr Snowdon said.
