The Assistant Minister for Defence, Stuart Robert MP, has joined with Federal and State Government colleagues to recognise the achievements of South Australian defence companies.
Speaking at the Defence Teaming Centre’s annual awards in Adelaide overnight, Mr Robert thanked defence companies for their commitment to pursuing innovation and excellence in all aspects of their businesses.
“The men and women in the Australian Defence Force are well-equipped and well served by companies who attract and retain employees of the highest calibre,” Mr Robert said.
“It is you in industry who deliver advanced capabilities to give the Australian Defence Force its technological edge.”
First held in 2010, the awards recognise companies that have consistently demonstrated excellence in ethical behaviour, service and commitment to South Australia’s defence industry.
Christie Digital received the Innovator Award for its work in developing the world’s first fully integrated solid-state, Wide Quad Extended Graphics resolution projection systems designed specifically to meet the requirements of contemporary simulation and training applications.
GHD Group won the Employer of Choice Award. The company demonstrated flexible work practices underpinned by strong systems and processes that enable employees to meet their individual work-life balance needs.
Entech Electronics received the Defence Teaming Centre’s Small to Medium Enterprise of the Year Award, acknowledging their efforts in building their capability and capacity to work in the defence arena by successfully increasing their share of defence work.
The Young Achiever of the Year Award recognises an outstanding young person who is motivated, ambitious and who has excelled in building their career in defence industry. The award went to Chanelle Pogas from General Dynamics Land Systems-Australia.
“I congratulate all the winners here tonight and would encourage you to never forget that the work you do directly helps to equip and protect our Australian Defence Force personnel,” Mr Robert said.
