Victor Harbor’s 423 Army Cadet Unit (ACU) has recently relocated to a new facility in the Lincoln Park Industrial Estate, Hindmarsh Valley near Victor Harbor.
It includes a larger space for cadet activities, such as ceremonial drill, navigation, first aid and field craft.
Senator David Feeney, Parliamentary Secretary for Defence welcomed the new home for local Army Cadets.
Senator Feeney said: ‘The new site will give local Army Cadets a place to learn to be confident, self sufficient and willing to ‘have a go’. As an Army Cadet you get practical and challenging experiences.’
Warrant Officer Class Two Ron Teusner, the Officer Administering Command at 423 ACU said: ‘This year we are looking at recruiting more cadets and taking on additional Adult Cadet Staff to help out with the operation of the unit.
‘Throughout the coming year we will continue to develop lessons and activities that will benefit the cadets’ enjoyment and their youth development.’
