On behalf of every Australian, we wish the Australian athletes competing in the 2017 Invictus Games the best of luck.
The Invictus Games are an international, adaptive sports competition for current and former military personnel who have been wounded, injured or become ill in service.
Australia has sent a team of 43 current and former Australian Defence Force (ADF) members to compete in the third Invictus Games in Toronto, Canada from 23–30 September 2017.
More than 550 athletes from around 17 nations are expected to compete in sports such as swimming, cycling and wheelchair rugby.
Just as we respect the service and sacrifice of the men and women of our defence forces, we respect the Invictus Games competitors as athletes who have trained hard and sacrificed much to reach this level of excellence.
Australia’s participation in the Invictus Games provides the community with an opportunity to be inspired by the courage, determination and achievements of our current and former serving military members.
The Invictus Games team is supported by the ADF and Returned and Services League (RSL).
