Morrison Government backs Canberra cyber business

The Morrison Government has awarded a Canberra cyber technology company a grant of more than half a million dollars as part of the Government’s continued commitment to invest in Australian small and medium businesses.

Penten’s $520,000 Sovereign Industrial Capability Priority grant is supporting the construction of a secure facility fitted with information communications technology infrastructure.

Penten, based in the Canberra suburb of Braddon, is focused on delivering world-leading secure mobility and applied artificial intelligence programs, applications and hardware.

Minister for Defence Industry Melissa Price today announced the grant during a visit to the Penten Business Unit Launch.

“The Morrison Government is supporting Australian businesses to develop a resilient and internationally-competitive defence industrial base,” Minister Price said.

“Penten is a great example of a small business working with Defence to deliver leading-edge capability for our servicemen and women.

“It is businesses like Penten that provide us confidence that our ADF will maintain its capability edge into the future.”

“The Sovereign Industrial Capability Priority Grants Program helps to make our small and medium businesses more competitive and our supply chains more secure.”

Grant applications can be made at any time and submitted through the Centre for Defence Industry Capability.
