I was pleased to attend the eighth annual Australian-American Leadership Dialogue earlier this week.
It was an excellent opportunity to engage with a range of Australian and American government, enterprise, media, education and community representatives
The dialogue contributes to strengthening the fabric of the bilateral relationship and reinforces the primacy of the Australia-US alliance. The US rebalance to the Indo-Pacific presents significant opportunities for Australia to work closely with the United States in our region of primary strategic interest, to mutual benefit.
The Australia-US relationship continues to be characterised by an unparalleled depth and diversity of diplomatic, defence, economic, academic and cultural ties. We share many common values and world views, as well as closely aligned strategic interests
