Shortlist for Request
for Tender for the HQJOC Prime Systems Integrator
I am pleased to announce today further
significant progress towards establishing the new, purpose-built $300 million
Headquarters Joint Operations Command (HQJOC) facility near Bungendore,
NSW.
Defence has completed its evaluation of
the responses to the Invitation to Register Interest for the Command, Control,
Communications, Computing and Intelligence (C4I) Prime Systems Integrator
contract for HQJOC.
Five companies have been shortlisted to be invited to respond to the Request for
Tender, which will be released in early August.
The successful companies are: ADI Limited, BAE Systems Australia, KAZ
Technology Services Pty Ltd, Raytheon Australia Pty Ltd and RLM Systems Pty
Ltd.
I congratulate the companies on their
selection to the shortlist.
The tender period will close in late
September 2006 and I expect the contract to be signed in November this year.
The Headquarters project remains a
unique and exciting opportunity for companies to deliver a complex, integrated
C4I capability in a significant Defence project.
The contract to construct and operate
the Headquarters was signed between Defence and Praeco
Pty Ltd in late June 2006. Praeco, a consortium comprising Leighton Contractors Pty
Limited and ABM AMRO Australia Limited, will deliver the new facility under
private financing arrangements over a 30 year contract term.
The Headquarters project remains on
schedule to be fully operational in the last quarter of 2008.
