DEFENCE MINISTER TO VISIT TOWNSVILLE

WHAT:           The Minister for Defence, the Hon. Joel Fitzgibbon, will tour the Port of Townsville site and hold a media conference to discuss the recently released Defence White Paper and its benefits to Townsville.

WHEN:          12.00 midday on Wednesday, 6 May 2009.

WHERE:       Media should arrive via the visitor’s gate at Benwell Road, South Townsville and then proceed to Berth 10.

Media will need to undergo a safety briefing and should wear enclosed shoes. Other safety equipment will be provided on site.
