CONTRACT SIGNED FOR SUPPLY OF PHARMACEUTICALS
TO THE ADF
Greg Combet, Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Procurement, today
announced that the Defence Materiel Organisation has signed a contract with
Anspec Pty Ltd for the supply of pharmaceuticals and medications to the
Australian Defence Force (ADF) valued at $93.5 million over five years.

The ADF will transition to the new contractual arrangement from 1
January 2009.
The new arrangement consolidates 28 individual contracts for the
individual supply, warehousing and distribution of ADF pharmaceuticals and
medications.
“This new arrangement will improve pharmaceutical supply chain
efficiencies, apply modern business practices and market mechanisms to improve
quality, reduce costs and stock wastage, and increase responsiveness to the ADF
needs.”
